Service Description
The Kellian Hockey Dangle and Snipe camp is geared towards players who want to improve on the different elements of skating skills and puck control. With a low coach to camper ratio, each skater will receive a lot of personal attention. The emphasis of this summer camp is centered around skating techniques such as balance, inside and outside edge control, stops and starts, crossovers and of course, solid forwards and backwards skating. But skating is also done with a puck... so there will be a heavy influence on puck control with many of the exercises and challenges done with a puck. A typical day at camp... drop your kids off at the Stowe Arena for an off-ice stick handling clinic at 9:00 am. Morning ice time at 10:00 - 11:00 am. The morning session focuses on fundamental edge and balance techniques. Kellian Hockey camps target select fundamental techniques that allow a player to quickly transition into performing more advanced moves increasing their ability to be more creative and effective. Then we break for lunch. After that, we get into our off-ice game awareness training. We will be engaging in various activities that develops a player's sense of "creating a plan" before he/she receives the puck. The second ice time goes from 1:45pm to 2:45pm. The focus is engaging in drills that further develops the morning techniques in competitive and non competitive small games or challenges. You can pick up your kids at 3:00pm. The Kellian Hockey philosophy revolves around the idea that depth in fundamental technique encourages creativity. A player will develop their own style over time... so instead of offering an extensive breadth of skills to learn over the week, we focus on key fundamentals, and work on them deeper. Jerseys are provided. A camp jersey can be upgraded to a Reversible-jersey for a small upcharge of $45. Boys only, ages 9 through 12. Players outside the recommended age range can be considered. A $250 deposit is due at booking. The remainder of the tuition is due May 1st. Payments not made in a timely manner may result in the loss of your spot to players on the waitlist.
